SAP released a new development concept a while ago which enables building new applications on the SAP Cloud platform using the Cloud Foundry runtime environment.

I am excited to announce that I am helping out a company participating in the SAP starter program to build a MVP ( Minimum Viable Product ) for the SAP Cloud platform using the new Cloud Foundry technical layer and MTA applications.

In the recent SAP TechED it was announced that ABAP becomes available as programming language and runtime in the SAP Cloud platform.

The platform currently offers JAVA and node.js as development environments for extending existing functionality or built new custom solution offerings.

As of 2018 ABAP will join those ranks and be supported throughout the platform.
