I am pleased to announce that I completed the 6 week online openSAP course ‘Introduction to Mobile Solution Development for the Enterprise’ and graduated with a ‘Record Of Achievement’ of 96.9%.

The openSAP course ‘Introduction to Mobile Solution Development for the Enterprise’ just ended this week after 6 weeks of exploring SAP’s vision on the ‘mobile enablement of the enterprise’. Just like the SAP HANA course, the quality of delivered learning content (videos and presentations) was outstanding.

I was interviewed by Susan Gale — Communications Director of SAP Global Communications — regarding my experience(s) as student in the openSAP ‘Massive open online courses’ (MOOCs).

openSAP started with a new online course ‘Introduction to Mobile Solution Development for the Enterprise’ which will discuss development of mobile enterprise applications within the SAP eco system. I am following this course to get a better insight on the technologies and platforms SAP is going to use the next coming years for its mobile development.

I am pleased to announce that I completed the 6 week online openSAP course ‘Introduction to software development on SAP HANA’ and graduated with a ‘Record Of Achievement’ of 99.9%.

I have been working on a SAPUI5 ‘proof of concept’ application which will display dashboards for the messaging statistics of SAP PI messages. The message statistics are grouped into ‘cockpit sets’ — ‘General’ ones are available for all users and ‘Personal’ ones can be maintained by the users themselves.

SAP HANA XS provides a complete development environment for building so-called ’native’ applications. The term ’native’ is chosen as these kind of applications will run directly on top of the SAP HANA XS engine as opposed to applications running on eg. an ABAP stack that would interact with SAP HANA. The benefits for such applications are enormous …

We are on track with the openSAP HANA XS Course … The course offers excellent, high-quality e-learning sources including video material, PDF powerpoint slides and lectures transcripts.

We are enlisted and following the online openSAP course ‘Introduction to Software Development on SAP HANA’. This 6 week online course will introduce developers into the wonderful world of SAP’s in-memory database SAP HANA and the built-in application server SAP HANA XS (Extended Services).

Overall SAP strategy recommends though to always have your PI stack matching the latest version of any other SAP Netweaver product within your landscape. With some potential new SAP 7.3 systems on the horizon, it was the right moment to upgrade the current PI landscape towards 7.31 Ehp 1.

SAP Gateway is positioned by SAP as a light-weight, connectivity component which allows all kind of devices to connect to SAP systems (typically ERP back-ends) to work with ‘data’ using the ‘Open Data Protocol’ (ODATA) without a need for any ABAP programming skills.

2013 is already ongoing for a while … time to list some interests & objectives for the coming year … SAP is moving ahead fast and times are changing. So what’s on our list?
