At Umicore we have been doing a ‘proof of concept’ on integrating SAP functionality on a mobile device. We have written an Android native application which integrates with the SAP backend functionality via an ABAP HTTP ICF service residing on SAP PI.
The application will show labo analysis results which are identified via an analysis number and searched in the backend SAP ECC system (via SAP PI). This number can be scanned as a QR code or entered manually. Retrieved analysis results are also buffered on the device and can be consulted offline. The application was written using the native Android SDK.
